St. Cyril was born in 315 and raised in Jerusalem. There he became well-educated and knowledgeable of Scripture. He was ordained a priest and was responsible for teaching catechumens about the Catholic Faith before they were baptized at the Easter Vigil.
He was eventually ordained the Bishop of Jerusalem. However, trouble met Cyril when he was falsely accused of Arianism by other bishops. He was eventually vindicated by the Council of Constantinople in 381. He later died in 386.
St. Cyril was made a Doctor of the Church in 1822. The lessons he taught catechumens (The Catechetical Lectures of Cyril of Jerusalem) are still important for theological reflection today. Countless spiritual gems can be found in his written works. Let us ask for his intercession that we may know and serve Christ as he did.

March 19th is the Solemnity of St. Joseph, patron of the Universal Church, spouse and protector of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and foster-father and guardian of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We venerate him and honor his role that he plays in the redemption of our souls by saying his own personal yes to God.
“Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.’ … When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.”
(Mt 1:20-21, 24)
St Joseph is a wonderful example of obedience to God's will. May we all look to St. Joseph and ask for his assistance to help us follow God's will and plan for our life.
St. Joseph most just, chaste, and prudent, pray for us!

On the Solemnity of the Annunciation, we honor the event when the Angel Gabriel appeared to the Virgin Mary and announced that She would conceive a son by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that She would name Her son Jesus.
On this great day, we celebrate the Incarnation of Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We also celebrate the "Fiat" of Our Lady, Mother, and Queen.
We ask for Mary's intercession, that we may trust in God's plan and put our love for Christ above all material things.
O Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace, pray to Jesus for us who have recourse to You.
